"We will leave no stone unturned to locate her," said Katargam police inspector KS Patel.
Kaiba had won the challenge certificate at a recent dog show organised by Kennel Club of India in Vadodara.
"We are pained and worried about Kaiba as she is pregnant. We suspect that she was stolen because people are aware of her breed, which has links with the American Champion of the same breed. Her market value is also high especially because she is pregnant," Mandviwala said.
While Kaiba, and her sister Kara, stay with the Mandviwalas, she was kept at a kennel in Parsiwad in Katargam recently from where she vanished.
"We had shifted her to the kennel in the evening since she was restless due to loud music being played at a marriage ceremony near our house. She was missing in the morning and there were biscuits on the other side of the kennels compound wall," said the owner.
It has led the police to a dogged effort. "We have taken statements of the family members and got hold of some details which have direct connection with the theft. Since there are no circumstantial evidences in the case, we will have to rely on the information furnished by the owner," says investigating officer M B Parmar said.
